NASA's Michoud Assembly Facility

Economic Development Site Visit

For more than half a century, NASA’s Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans has been the nation’s premier site for manufacturing and assembly of large-scale space structures and systems and an economic driver for the region. In this site visit, attendees will have the chance to tour the facility where the rockets for the Artemis II mission were built.

Please note that, per NASA policies, there are specific security requirements for this site visit. Only U.S. Citizens are allowed to tour the facility. Foreign nationals are not permitted on this site. All attendees must present a physical Real ID or a U.S. Passport. No video or photography is allowed inside the factory. Due to site restrictions, transportation will be provided to and from the Hyatt Regency New Orleans, and all attendees must arrive via the provided transportation.

Admission to the Historic New Orleans Collection

The Historic New Orleans Collection provides an opportunity to explore the history and culture of New Orleans and the Gulf South through artifacts, exhibitions and architecture. In this behind-the-scenes experience, attendees will see rare primary sources such as early sheet music, photographs of jazz legends, and historic instruments not on display at the museum. A historian will share details about these artifacts and their significance to New Orleans. After this exclusive opportunity, attendees are free to explore the museum, including the limited-time American Revolution: The Augmented Exhibition. Transportation will be provided from the Hyatt Regency New Orleans to and from the museum.

NATIONAL WWII MUSEUM

9:30 AM – 11:30 AM

Exclusive Presentation and Admission

The National WWII Museum tells the story of the American experience in the war that changed the world—why it was fought, how it was won, and what it means today—so that all generations can understand the price of freedom and be inspired by what they learn. Attendees will begin their tour with a private presentation from one of the museum’s resident historians on the role of industry and business in the war effort. From there, attendees will be free to explore the museum and watch the film. This custom experience is only available for ACCE Convention attendees.

The Youth Empowerment Project

Workforce Development Site Visit

The Youth Empowerment Project engages underserved young people in New Orleans through community-based education, mentoring, enrichment and employment readiness programs. Join this site visit to tour their facility, including the business that they run to train young people in employability skills, and hear more about this program. Transportation to and from the site will be provided from the Hyatt Regency New Orleans.
